Before/after the grading of Shred Or Dice

Like I said earlier I had to do some grading and image manipulation on the film Shred Or Dice. The weather conditions weren’t perfect on the shoot, neither was the backdrop we had – so I went ahead and changed it! Below you can see stillframes of the raw footage compared to the final grading.

When you’re going to change the backdrop… why not do it in style? Mount everest has never looked so good!

Above: One of the few shots where the lighting conditions were actually what I wanted it to be like. Imagine having this look for the whole film…

Above: To be readable the dice needed some sharpening

Above: The last shot in the film was a real pain. I think I had at least fifteen different animated masks , and tried many different tracking points to make it stick. If you look closely in the film you’ll see Mount Everest moving around a little…

A little info about the editing of this film:

Edited in Adobe Premiere cs5
Graded, time-ramped and animated in Adobe After Effects cs5

The only actual effects I used were: Curves, Tint and Lens Flare – all default in After Effects.
Beyond that I used the ”advanced sky replacement”-technique from Videocopilot.net

Tack själv! Det var kul att du vann! Jag tyckte er film var den som hade bäst klippning helt enkelt, bra timing och variation.
